1961 born in Mannheim, Germany 1985-1991 Studies at the National Academy of Fine Arts, Karlsruhe, Germany with Professors Wilhelm Loth, Michael Sandle, Harald Klingelhöller, Katharina Fritsch, Werner Pokorny and Elisabeth Wagner 1988 – First Place, Annual Fine Art Competition, Academy of Fine Arts, Karlsruhe, Germany 1989 – Awarded grant by the city of Mannheim to study in Krakow, Poland Since 1991 independent visual artist living and working in Mannheim, Germany 1998 – Advancement Award from Ludwig Roos Foundation 1999–2001 - Renovation of the Old Pumping Station, Mannheim-Neckarau, to a home and atelier. Includes planning and developing an extensive garden surrounding the art nouveau structure built in 1903. 2004– First prize, preservation of a historic property, from the state of Baden Wuertemberg 2008 - „WELDE Award“ (people choice award).
Since 2004 – Annual exhibitions of new Brixy works in the Old Pumping Station have gone from insider tip to a must attend event for art enthusiasts. Exhbitions include, 2004 Grape Harvest, 2005 Roots, 2006 Well Rounded, 2007 Grow, 2008 Beyond, 2009 Eden, 2010 Seven, 2012 Discover.
Work and study travel
throughout Europe (to include yearly visits to the island of La Palma in the Canary Islands where acrylic on paper works for the Eden series are painted) as well as travel to Malaysia, Mexico, Bali, the Seychelles and the United States.
